Myrtle Marquez, 92, a resident of Arizona and California passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on October 10, 2023. Myrtle was a beloved mother, sister, daughter, nana, great nana (grandmother) and friend. Born July 15, 1931 in Douglas, AZ, moved to Tucson to finish school and started her family. Moved the family to Pasadena CA in 1963. Myrtle retired and moved to Sedona, AZ in 1991 with her husband John Marquez. After the death of her husband John (1999), Myrtle moved to Cottonwood, AZ in 2008 and then to Wittmann, AZ in 2022 with her daughter until her recent death.
Myrtle is survived by her children; Diane Roberts (Wilfred), Gilbert Granillo, Katherine Granillo, Ralph Granillo (Diana), Barbara Bell (Scott), 13 Grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, sister Mary Schoonmaker, stepchildren; Tom Marquez (Martie), Elizabeth Morino (Joe), Joann Baron (Peter), Joseph Marquez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Myrtle will be missed by everyone. In passing she will reunite with her husband John Marquez, son Charles Marquez, brothers; John Natcher, Walter Natcher, Chester Natcher, sisters; Sara (Sally) Nash, Emmeline Natcher, and numerous family members.
A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held at Mt View Mortuary & Cemetery 2400 N Fair Oaks Ave, Altadena, CA 91001on October 28, 2023 at 11:00 am. Please see Mt View’s website for further details. https://www.mtn-view.com/
