Billie Joe Simily, 83, of Pasadena California, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday April 10, 2023.

Bill was born June 30, 1939 in St James Missouri to WilmaSimily (Miller) and Hamilton Simily, Later in life Wilmamarried Henry Miller an important part of his life. He attended John F Hodge High School, leaving his senior year to join the United States Navy where he served from April 2, 1957 to December 2, 1959 on the USS Midway. After his discharge from the Navy Bill he moved to California, working at Hughes Aircraft where he met Joyce. They married on August 1, 1964. They raised their three children Frank, Dina and Pamela, in Hollywood California, later moving to Pasadena.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather who loved his family, his friends, the ponies,and the St Louis Cardinals. He was Cub Master with the Boy Scouts Troop 621. He enjoyed basketball, softball,playing bridge, needle pointing with the Kollers, bowling, fishing, golfing, camping, was a member of the Pasadena Elks Lodge for 35 years and always loved a good trip to Vegas. Bill was a painter by trade working with LAUSD and his own custom painting company. Bill loved life! He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends and all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his wife Joyce; his children, Frank, Dina,Pamela and son in law Steve; his grandchildren Sarah,Lindsay, Kennon, Billie, Alex and David; his greatgrandchildren Stella, Beckham and baby girl Ardnt due September; his brothers Homer, KT and David. He was preceded in death by his mother Wilma, step father Henry, father Hamilton, his brother Bob, his sister Kay, and his mother in law Edna.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday April 29,2023.
