Philip Scott Angerhofer, 77, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2025. Born on January 20,1948, in Pasadena, Phil grew up in Altadena, California. After graduating from John Muir High School in Pasadena, he attended Pasadena City College where he received an A.A. Degree in Telecommunications. He then attended California State University at Los Angeles, attaining a B. A. in Informational Broadcasting.
Phil spent the major part of his career with the ABC Television Network in Los Angeles in videotape, studio, and field operations. He was a member of the Television Academy, won Emmys for both individual accomplishment and as a working team member, and served on the Television Academy Board of Governors representing his peer group as a Governor. Locally in Pasadena he was also a member of the Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association.
He is survived by his brother Lance Angerhofer and sister-in-law Barbara Angerhofer of Tucson, Arizona, by his sister Tricia Angerhofer Kuekes and brother-in-law Kurt Kuekes of Altadena, and by his longtime close friend, Stephen Jones of Studio City.
A celebration of life will be held on October 11, 2025, for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Phil’s memory to the humane society or animal rescue of your choice.
