Sister Mona Ann Sheahan, 71 of Pasadena, California died Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Huntington Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit. 

 

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 25, 1953, a daughter of the late Johnny Moses Chambers and Herise Smith. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Ollie Saxton and Danny Plum.   

She and her family relocated to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania while there, she attended Langley High School. Shortly thereafter at the age of 14 she became a member of Full Gospel Church of The Sons of God, under the tutelage of the late Bishop TalminFields and Sister Ruth Marie Fields. She was united in matrimony to the late Tommie Lee Estes, and to their union she gave birth to Tommie L. Estes and Christina L. Estes. In 1991 she relocated to California with the church and continued to serve faithfully while witnessing and leading many souls to the Lord.

 

In 2002 she met and married her love Brother John Joe Sheahan on December 28, 2003, who she affectionately called her “pookie”. She worked as a caregiver over the course of 35 years.

 

Sister Mona is survived by her two children, Tommie L. Estes,Christina L. Estes (fiancé: Matthew Vatter), God-daughter Rev. Cassandra Buchanan-Griffith (Malakiyah Griffith Sr.), Spiritual daughters Sis. Isabel Herrera (Jamie Herrera), Sis. SusanaSalazar (Rolando Salazar. Grandmother to 7 surviving grand children out of 8. Shanika Estes, Whadena Estes, ShanqueaEstes, Tommie Estes, Deontay Moore, Tommie Lynn Estes, Sashay Estes, Zhane Steele. Great-grandmother of 13 children. Brothers Johnnie Chambers, Alonzo Chambers, her sisters Veda Saxton and Luchia Love. Along with a host of relatives, friends, and church family
