Mikasa M Lum

Mikasa Oshita was born on August 27, 1939, in Indio California. She attended grade school in Pasadena, California and graduated from John Muir High School in 1959. After graduation, she attended Pasadena City College studying Business Administration. While continuing her education, Mikasa worked in Pasadena where she met and married Michael Lum in 1960.

Mikasa attended Marinello School of Beauty in 1967-1968 and obtained her California Board of Cosmetology license. She then shifted her career into the electronics industry working for Electro Music, Digitran and Naval Defense Electronics. She also served as a teaching assistant for the Electronics Assembly course at Pasadena City College’s Adult Training Center.

She liked to bowl, knit, crochet and was addicted to reading novels by V.C. Andrews.

Mikasa was also known as “Mary” by many family members and close friends. Mikasa “Mary” Lum passed away on March 16, 2021 in Rosemead, California. She is survived by her husband Michael Lum Sr. of Altadena, son Michael Jr. and wife Teri of Burbank, and son Matthew of Altadena. She was laid to rest on March 24, 2021 at Mt. View Cemetery in Altadena, California with a Catholic Rite of Committal administered. Mikasa was much loved by all who knew her and she will be dearly missed. She was 81 years of age.
