LeeAnna K. McMurray

LeeAnna was born April 30, 1923 to Charles and Clementine Vaughn in Nicodemus, KS. She was the sixth of nine siblings (Velva, Norval, Margaret, Charles, John, Ruth, Alice and Odella). All preceded her in death. LeeAnna's early education was completed in Graham County, District #1 school system. Upon graduation, she relocated to Topeka, KS where she received a certificate in culinary and domestic skills from NYPD. 

In Topeka, she met Carl (Sonny) M. McMurray. They married in Stockton, KS, Rooks County Court House. In 1946, they moved to Pasadena, CA. LeeAnna was employed by the Quasi, Huntington and Mullfinger families for over 74 years. Her husband was employed by the United States Postal Service until his death in August, 1994. 

Cherished Momemories

- Shopping at "Saks Fifth Ave. Daisy"

- Thanksgiving and vacations with her Niece (Darlene) and Family in Chicago

- Surprised 95th birthday party given by her Nephew Rolland and Great Niece (Audrey). Local newspapers paid homage to her longevity and longtime residency of Pasadena, CA.

- 2000 Africa trip, Wooden plaque memorializing her special events was given by her Nephew (Richard) Houston, TX. 

- Holidays, barbecue dinners at her newphew's (Dennis-Cheryl) home telling jokes with Cheryl's Sister (Darlene). They were known as the President and Vice-President.

- Named 2017 Grand Marshall in the Emancipation Celebration Parade.
