Forever in Our Hearts.

Richard grew up in Pasadena, CA where he completed his schooling at Linda Vista Elementary and Eliot Middle School. He attended Muir High School and Millikan High School unƟl he graduated from Blair High School in 2003. Richard’s instructors and peers praised him on his apƟtude for reading, wriƟng, and his arithmetic competencies. Richard’s most fond school- age memories, however, were on the football field, beginning with the Pasadena Panthers youth football league, where he proudly wore the #7 on his jersey! Richard also enjoyed playing baseball, running track & field, playing the clarinet, creaƟng comic books, reading, and playing video games.

In his early adulthood, Richard began an Electrician Apprenticeship Program then moved to the state of Washington with his favorite cousin, Tyron Brackenridge. From 2007-2008, Richard served in the U.S. Navy as an Electrical and Mechanical Equipment Repairman in Great Lakes, Illinois and was ulƟmately honorably discharged.

Thereafter, Richard explored a variety of professional endeavors as an electrician, salesman, certfied drug and alcohol counselor, warehouse worker, and other entrepreneurial pursuits. Yet, Richard seemed most passionate about his community and the wellbeing of those around him. This was evident not only in his professional character, but in his everyday conversations and actions. He soared in his role as a Field Operations Leader for a program that provided wellness services to the homeless population in downtown Los Angeles. He was always looking for opportunities to share resources and knowledge with others and to lend a helping hand. Richard was invested inuplifting others around him, so that everyone was well positioned to thrive.

Most recently, Richard successfully earned his cerƟficate of rehabilitation. Following this achievement, Richard expressed an earnest interest in advancing his skills to one day establish his own business and provide services that directly give back to his community. Richard also had a heartfelt desire to establish roots, find a mate, and have children.

Given Richard’s tenacity, charismatic personality, and gift of gab, he was certain to woo a lovely lady if given more time on this earth. And Richard loved to talk! Whether talking to a prospective wife, friend, family member, or stranger on the street, if there was a listening ear, Richard would philosophize, prophesize, counsel, put on a comedy show, rap rhymes, or simply share his thoughts. In his most recent years, he was a frequent caller on the KBLA radio staƟon, under the moniker of “Richie Rich from Pasadena,” and shared his thoughts on love, life, and manhood. Most can recall long conversaƟons with Richard that felt never-ending, but undoubtedly, the conversation always ended with insighƞul words that resonated in your heart and mind.

Richard championed passion, truth, purpose, and righteousness. And above all else, Richard loved his friends and family! He always reminded those he loved the most that he would go to battle for them, any day, for any reason—all you had to do was give him a call! Richard will truly be missed.

Richard’s father passed away in 2017, but he is survived by his mother, sister, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Forever in our hearts.
