Laurel was born on May 20, 1975 in Eugene, Oregon to Hal and Babette Lary. She was the first born and was later joined by her sister, Lisa and her brother, Ben. Throughout her younger years she participated in softball, gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do and dancing and went on to compete in both gymnastics and dance. She was very active in her high school years at North Eugene High School, where she made friends easily and was a cheerleader. Laurel maintained many relationships with these friends through her entire life.

She lived most of her adult life in California where she worked as a server at Claim Jumper restaurant, eventually traveling around the country opening other Claim Jumper restaurants as a corporate trainer. She was working at Claim Jumper when she met the love of her life, Bob Richter. She love boating and also loved to travel, and they explored the world together.

Over the years Laurel was also the best Auntie to Gianna, Blake, Charlee, Lily and Landon, spoiling them the best she could and attending as many of their events as she could. Laurel was extremely close to her family and family was everything to her. She loved to take trips with her parents, was the biggest Oregon Duck fan with her sister and her Dad, and always visited and checked in on her siblings.

Laurel was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2019, but she fought hard and remained positive, always encouraging others along the way and even planning her next adventure. She went to be with the Lord on April 19th, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Bob Richter, her parents, Hal and Babette Lary, sister Lisa Potter, brother Ben lary (Crystal) and nieces and nephews, Gianna Dent (Noah), Blake Potter, Charlee Potter, Lily and Landon Lary and Oakley.
