**Obituary for Silvera Regina Reece** Silvera Regina Reece, a beacon of humor and warmth, gently passed away at the age of 80 on November 28, 2024. Born on February 22, 1944, in the vibrant heart of Mile Gully, Jamaica, Silvera carried the spirit of her homeland through every chapter of her remarkable life. Her early career commenced in dedication to public service, working diligently for the Jamaican government for a decade. It was there that she began her journey of making a meaningful impact. In her later years, Silvera found her calling as a Nurse at Monte Vista Grove Homes, where for 17 years, she nurtured not only her patients but also her colleagues with laughter and an infectious energy. Silvera's life was rich with the qualities that defined her—kindness, wit, boundless energy, and a fierce loyalty to those she loved. She is celebrated for her considerate nature, always choosing honesty—packaged, of course, in her signature style and wry humor. Her family—strongly comprised of her son Roger Henry, her daughter-in-law Crystal Henry, and her cherished granddaughters, Bella and Luna Henry—carry forward her legacy. Her parents, Arthur and Elfreda Reece, instilled in her the values that would guide her life. A woman of immense charm and wit, Silvera's life was as colorful as it was filled with love. In keeping with Silvera's embrace of family connections and her geographical considerations, her farewell celebrations will be spread across two days. On Thursday, December 19th, a viewing at 11:00 AM followed by a service at 12:00 PM will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena. The following day, December 20th, her burial will take place at 11:00 AM at Rose Hills in Whittier. This staggered schedule not only reflects Silvera’s thoughtful nature but also ensures that attendees can commemorate her life without the frenzy of bustling traffic—a sly nod to her consideration for others. Silvera leaves behind a legacy encompassing humor, love, and an indomitable spirit that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Without a doubt, Silvera's legacy will continue to bring smiles and warmth to all those privileged enough to have been part of her living story.
