**Obituary for Patricia "Pat" Nash (née Shepherd)**

In the serene embrace of Pasadena, CA, Patricia "Pat" Nash departed this life on February 13, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in the charming community of Lake Charles, LA, on April 10, 1945, Patricia was a beloved daughter of the South, a vibrant testament to the enduring values of family, faith, and education.

Her journey, marked by the pursuit of knowledge and a profound commitment to nurturing others, was nurtured at Southern University in Baton Rouge, where she majored in the arts, graduating in 1968. A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta since the fall of 1965 and a high school valedictorian, Pat's academic brilliance was only eclipsed by her passion for teaching. As a lifelong educator and tutor, she dedicated herself to illuminating young minds with both knowledge, kindness, and compassion.

Pat beheld life with unyielding generosity, lingering joyfully in simple pleasures. Her days were spent tending her garden with the same warmth she extended towards everyone she met, stitching love into every creation with her sewing needle, and savoring the thrill of quiz shows that sparked lively debates in her home. Yet it was the baking of delectable treats and her myriad of cherished "Mom/Grandma" joys that brought her the most profound sense of accomplishment.

Patricia's legacy of love, wisdom, and sacrifice thrives in those she leaves behind: her children who she adored, Adrienne, Theron, and Genevieve; alongside countless friends extended family, and students who were touched by her guiding presence. As they gather to celebrate her life at her home church, Metropolitan Baptist Church on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 am, they are reminded of Patricia's enduring message: "Remember God created you. Forgive someone, today."

In Patricia's memory, we are called to live with the same grace that distinguished her days—a testament of faith and forgiveness, reflective of a soul who believed in the beauty of every human connection.
