It is incredibly difficult to sum up the impact and influence a mother has in the form of a single writing.

Deserie Denise McKnight, born in Los Angeles in April of 1960, was the daughter of Joseph and Doris McKnight and was the young sister of Anthony McKnight. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 09th, 2023 at the age of 63.

Losing both parents at a young age just years apart, Deserie endured a loss no child should have to suffer. This loss helped her to build a bond with her brother Tony and the cousins she grew up with.

Years later Deserie met Victor Jones III just before 1980 and they went on to have three children, a son and two daughters. As a Mother she would strive to do everything within her power to be the best Mother she could be while spending many years prioritizing their needs well above her own.

During her life Deserie had a passion for crocheting, helping anyone in need, and gardening.

Anyone who knew Deserie knew that she had a kind heart. So willing to do anything to help anyone in need.

Her love for God and His Son Jesus Christ was apparent in her character as well as her willingness to participate in several ministries at Shepherd Church.

Deserie’s family was unprepared for her loss but she will be survived by her children’s father, Victor Jones III, her son, Victor Jones IV, and both of her daughters Porche and Princess Jones.
