Jose Luis Lopez, Sr.

Jose Luis Lopez, 95, of Los Angeles, CA passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021.

He is survived by 4 sons, 1 daughter, 19 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Born in Acatic, Jalisco in January 1926, He grew up in Paradones, Jalisco and later moved to Guadalajara. There he met the love of his life, Celia Leticia, they married in 1955 in Tijuana, Baja California and migrated to the U.S.

One of Jose Luis’ biggest accomplishments was being a father.  He considered himself lucky enough to have been married to the love of his life for 65 wonderful years.  His children called their Dad a Superhero, and even as adults, still see him that way.  He was always there for them through their ups and downs, and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer.

Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Jose Luis managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible.  On his final days he was always surrounded by his children and grandchildren, who he adored more than anything else in the world.

As he aged he taught them how to grow old with kindness and a love for God.  When the Good Lord finally called, he met Him with courage and with joy in the promise of what lies ahead.
